Dive into Reading Fun This Summer with the GCPL Summer Reading Challenge!
Get ready for a summer filled with colorful stories and exciting adventures! The Brookwood Elementary Media Center is thrilled to encourage all our students and their families to participate in the Gwinnett County Public Library's 2025 Summer Reading Challenge! It's a fantastic way to keep those minds engaged and discover new literary treasures.
Who can join the fun?
Everyone! From our newest "green" readers to those who are wonderfully "well-red," all ages are invited to participate. Let's make this a vibrant and colorful summer of reading together!
Ready to sign up? Here's how:
- Visit your local library branch: Library staff are ready to help you register in person.
- Register online with Beanstack: It's easy to sign up and track your progress online!
- Go to the Gwinnett County Public Library's Beanstack page.
- Create a free account or log in to your existing library account.
- Click the box to register for the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge.
- Pre-registration opens on May 1st, and you can start logging your reading on May 22nd!
Track Your Reading, Earn Awesome Prizes!
Keep track of the minutes you spend reading throughout the summer, and you'll earn cool prizes along the way! You can start logging your reading minutes on May 22nd in two easy ways:
- Paper Log: Stop by the library and ask a staff member for a crayon-themed paper log. Color in a crayon for every 30 minutes you read. When you complete a row, you win a prize!
- Beanstack: Log your minutes digitally on the Gwinnett County Public Library's Beanstack page online or by downloading the Beanstack app on your phone or tablet. Beanstack will notify you when you've reached a new prize level!
GRAND PRIZE ALERT!
Imagine winning tickets to explore the vibrant Atlanta Botanical Gardens or the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary! Aspiring artists could win gift cards to abcPottery or Actor’s Scene. And for our adult readers, there's a chance to win a colorful gift basket from Calvary Glassblowing studio!

Don't miss out on collecting all ten Summer brag tags this year! Earn a new tag each week (plus a cool key ring to show them off!) by visiting any library branch and checking out a book. Just show your receipt to a staff member. (Limited quantities available, so start collecting early!)
