Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports
What is PBIS?

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a school-wide behavior system that focuses on establishing a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm. Expectations are taught, modeled, acknowledged, monitored, and then retaught as necessary. At Brookwood Elementary, PBIS focuses on all students being respectful, responsible, and ready. The three R’s are expected in all settings of the school as evidenced on the school-wide behavioral matrix.
Mission Statement and Goals
The mission of the Brookwood Elementary PBIS Team is to explicitly teach expected student behaviors, re-teaching when necessary, and consistently recognize positive behavior throughout the school.
BES Core Values
We are ready.
We are respectful.
We are responsible.
How Does PBIS Work?
- Direct instruction from staff of expected behaviors occurs throughout the school year.
- All students follow a consistent set of rules and expectations throughout all areas in the school.
- Rules and expectations are displayed as a matrix which is posted in hallways, classrooms, and the cafeteria.
- When students follow the rules and expectations, they are recognized by staff with Golden Tickets that can be traded in for prizes.
- When students do not follow the rules, there are planned interventions to help them get back on track.
Support Brookwood PBIS with Your Donations!
The Brookwood Elementary Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team needs your help! Our students work hard every day to be Respectful, Responsible, and Ready, and they're earning Golden Tickets for their positive behavior. These tickets can be redeemed for exciting prizes from our Golden Ticket Catalog.
To keep the store stocked with great rewards, we're asking for donations of new items. We've created an Amazon Wish List to make it easy to see exactly what our students love. Your donation, big or small, helps us celebrate their hard work and encourages a positive school environment for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support in making Brookwood a great place to learn and grow!
